TUNES BY THE TRACKS is luxuriating in our glorious Finger Lakes foliage enroute to a Wednesday, Nov 6 arrival at the Clifton Springs library.
Your always affable hosts, Jim Clare, Cathy McGrath, and Allen Hopkins, are ultra pleased to welcome back an old and dear friend, as Feature:

~ MARIA GILLARD TRIO ~

When Anne Mancilla invited Cathy and I to do a show at the library way far back in 2009, Maria was our first Feature...we figured we might get to do two or even three shows, if we were lucky.
Ten years later, we're still at it, and Maria is still willing to come and Feature.

Maria Gillard, https://www.mariagillard.com/about.php" target="_blank">http://https://www.mariagillard.com/about.php is one of the Finger Lakes region's best known singer-songwriters, and deservedly so.
Click the really good bio on this Link to Maria's web page. Maria's page offers excellent descriptions of Maria and her two accomplices who comprise the
Marial Gillard Trio.
Us Trackers are big fans of Perry Cleaveland and Doug Henry. They're two fine gentlement, and their music is always puredeelicio

Saddle up and join us for this 'un...

~ THE MYSTERY PICKERS ~

Here they come agin Trackers...they just leave us gasping in disbelief every time.
If you'd like to unlimber your instrument...hmm...that sounds off color, but it's just in yer mind.
Anyhow...ask Cathy, Allen, or Jim (moi), and we'll have you cavorting in the limelite quick as a wink.

                                                                               Dave North

TUNES BY THE TRACKS is racing to the library for a Wed, Oct 16 arrival, equipped to head off
and salvage a potential situation with ruffles, flourishes and panache.
Your happily handy hosts, Jim Clare, Cathy McGrath, and Allen Hopkins were momentarily flummoxed by
a last minute cancellation from Alana Amram.
But then...from a planet far, far away, came the stupendous Dave North to save the day.

We are so pleased and excited to bring back a Tracker favorite as Feature:

~ DAVE NORTH ~

Dave North is well known and much loved by us Trackers. Dave's nearly bottomless well of songs,
ranges from light hearted, through faintly bawdy, to his stunningly lovely and evocative ballads of England, Ireland, and America.
All are anchored and showcased by Dave's fine guitar accompaniment and his
wonderful vocals.

C'mon out to the library on Wednesday, and burrow into the cozy comfort of an evening with Dave North.

~ THE MYSTERY PICKERS ~

Needless to say, these stalwarts are geared to go...their musical talents will be on full frontal display, so buckle up.
If you'd like to try a stint as a Mystery Picker...just ask Cathy, Allen, or Jim (moi), and you too, will be part of
the growing crew of desperados who risk it all in the spotlight of Tunes By the Tracks.

TUNES BY THE TRACKS, Featuring ALANA AMRAM

                                                                                       Alana Amram

TUNES BY THE TRACKS is inbound for a Wednesday, Oct 16 arrival at the library. Your wholly wholesome hosts, Jim Clare, Cathy McGrath, and Allen Hopkins are thrilled and excited to welcome a branny new artist as our Feature:

~ ALANA AMRAM ~

Alana Amram, http://www.annaandthelens.com/alana-amram/ is not your typical folk singer. Alana, in her Folk persona, she has played the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival, and on the rocking scene, she has shared the stage with Metal bands Witchcraft and Danava; Hard Rock band Diamond Nights; indie starlets Clap Your Hands Say Yeah; as well as The Blue Van, TK Webb, The Redwalls; even a burlesque hoolahooper. These diverse elements manifest themselves in her debut EP Alana Amram and The Rough Gems.

While only in her twenties, Alana's songs paint a poignant picture of American life that can only be told by someone who has a deep and unique understanding of the land.

The daughter of esteemed composer, writer and poet David Amram and playwright/songwriter Lora Lee Ecobelli, Alana was born into an opulence of modern American culture.

"My earliest memories are of lying on the balcony at The Brooklyn Academy of Music as my father conducted on stage, and being heat stuck to his vinyl pickup truck seats as we toured through New Mexico. I used to sleep in my mom's guitar case while she was on stage", Alana recalled. David Amram is an iconic American figure who traveled and performed with the likes of Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and Miles Davis. He collaborated with literary greats such Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg and Hunter Thompson.

When performing alone in the haunts and dives of New York City, Alana's stark voice creates a fragile and intimate presence. When performing with her band, The Rough Gems, her delicate songs take on a rowdy and rawkus spirit that brings an immediate comparison to classic honky-tonk outlaws such as Waylon Jennings and Billy Joe Shaver. Made up primarily of members of the Brooklyn based outfit The Morning Pages (also signed to Zealous Records) the The Rough Gems wrap Alana’s catalog in a raw barroom style vigor that is coming to define the New York City indie-country scene.

c'mon out and join us to meet and enjoy Alana next Wednesday.

~ THE MYSTERY PICKERS ~

Still aglow from their stupendous success at the annual Mystery Picker Showcase, the gang is indubitably rehearsing feverishly, even as we speak, to take us to even greater heights, on the 16th.
Wanna give it a go...??  Just ask Cathy, Allen, or Jim (moi) and shazam...you'll be rubbing elbows with the Clifton Springs glitterati.

Superlatives abound, when folks describe Rebecca...here's one from Bluegrass great, Claire Lynch ~

"Rebecca has a beautiful voice and an intuitive gift for interpretation, along with a kindred heart that permeates all her songs."

TUNES BY THE TRACKS is burning up the mainline, enroute to a Wednesday, Aug 7 date at Clifton Springs library, with a Tracker ultra favorite on board.
Your warmly welcoming hosts, Jim Clare, Cathy McGrath, and Allen Hopkins are thrilled and pleased to welcome back our Feature:

~ LOREN BARRIGAR ~

Us Trackers know Loren very well.  We look forward to his performance as a high point of our TUNES BY THE TRACKS season, but for any newbies and to refresh us old hands, here's a little more about Loren.

Loren started playing guitar when he was only four years old, and by the time he was six, played the Chet A:tkins hit “Yackety Axe” in front of thousands of country music fans at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. He went on to study with Jimmy Atkins (Chet’s brother) which led to a touring career with his family band from Nashville to Las Vegas. Since settling down in Central New York, he has been in constant demand as a studio musician.

Loren has performed with some of the best acoustic players in the world including Stephen Bennett, Richard Smith, John Knowles, Muriel Anderson and Loren’s friend and mentor Tommy Emmanuel, the Australian guitar sensation. He has also recorded with Multiple Grammy winner and legendary producer Lloyd Maines.

Looking forward to seeing a passel of smiling Trackers for Loren's show.
Come early, and you might toss a lawn chair in the jitney, just in case.

~ THE MYSTERY PICKERS ~

Following Loren's set and a short break...we will sit back and marvel at the musical mayhem of our always entertaining Mystery Pickers.
If you Pickers get lucky, Loren might even back you up as an accompanist on yer song.

TUNES BY THE TRACKS, Featuring BILL DESTLER and REBECCA JOHNSON

               Rebecca Johnson                                               Bill Destler

TUNES BY THE TRACKS is on track and on time for our next show on Wednesday, July 24.
Your wholly holistic hosts, Jim Clare, Cathy McGrath, and Allen Hopkins are especially pleased to welcome our great friends as Feature:

~ BILL DESTLER and REBECCA JOHNSON ~

Bill is a renaissance man, who has excelled at many endeavors in his life, and his passion for the music of America continues undiminished.
Bill has played clubs, festivals, museums, universities, folk clubs, cow barns, and other lofty venues for half a Century, and he's just getting started.

Most recently, Bill retired from a distinguished tenure as President of Rochester Institute of Technology, so now he can devote himself full-time to his lifelong love of folk music...the music by, of, and about the regular people like us, who make up the fabric of America.
Bill and Rebecca, http://silentgrapevine.com/2017/02/songs-for-the-journey-a-concert-by-rit-president-bill-destler-featuring-rebecca-johnson.html
have a wonderful chemistry together...almost like a married couple or something.
Their sets are always a delightful potpourri of traditional folk, humorous and faintly risque ditties, haunting ballads, and a dash of Bill Destler original songs.

All the cool kids are gonna be at this show, so don't be square... bee there or bee sqare.
See yez at the library.

~ THE MYSTERY PICKERS ~

The legendary Mystery Pickers continue their relentless onslaught of music, and we invite newbies to give it a go.
So far, not a single Mystery Picker has been tarred, feathered, or ridden out of town on a rail.
Just ask Cathy, Allen, or Jim (moi), and watch yer star ascend...

Tunes By the Tracks is building up steam, for a highball run to the Clifton Springs library, on Wednesday, July 10.

Your happily handy hosts, Jim Clare, Cathy McGrath, and Allen Hopkins are pleased and excited to present our Double Feature:

~ TAYLOR PIE & THE BROTHERS BLUE ~

Taylor Pie, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taylor_Pie" target="_blank">https/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taylor_Pie is a much loved Tracker favorite. She has done so many things...many are even legal...that we'll just say that we love our Pie.

The Brothers Blue, https://www.thebrothersblue.com/" target="_blank">http/www.thebrothersblue.com/ endeared themselves to us Trackers with their inaugural visit last year, and we hear through the grapevine, that they're even better now...holy guacamole.

We're thrilled that these splendid artists will be combining their talents and spirits right on our stage...Pie might even organize a Song Swarm...

~ THE MYSTERY PICKERS ~

Oh yeah...not to worry...we saved room for the musical daredevils to strut their stuff...my guess, is that they might get some extry help from our Features.
